The entire Western narrative about the Ukraine War pushed by the likes of the BBC is simply American propaganda to win the hearts and minds of a largely naive, stupid & TV brainwashed European public to support an aggressive war against Russia under the false name of a humanitarian cause to defend Ukraine from VERY BAD RUSSIA.

The real cause of Putin’s concern about the existential threat to Russian speaking citizens in Ukraine began in 2014 when pro Maidan Azov-led ultra nationalists burnt down the Trade Unions House in Odessa in which 42 people were incinerated.
Putin withheld from interfering militarily to protect Russians from the Western backed Maidan revolution which installed a pro NATO anti-Russian administration, preferring instead to pursue peace talks as early as 2015. Putin foresaw trouble for Russians in Eastern Ukraine who rejected the revolutionary new Government in 2014 whose leaders were chosen by US Secretary of State administration, bypassing a democratically elected Government for Russian speaking people in Donbas & Crimea.
Their protest was met by neo fascist mobs, showing the Banderite salute, leading ultimately to a position of civil war.
However, these talks in 2015 were doomed to fail because the Kyiv regime had already been hijacked by an ultra nationalist sentiment fostered by US Senators, a Secretary of State, and an acting US Ambassador.
